Equal pay for equal work sought
Bharatiya Mazdoor Sangh (BMS) national vice-president Lakshma Reddy has demanded that the central government should pay equal wages for equal work to the labourers and employees across the country. The BMS leader participated as chief guest for the state-level executive meeting of the Andhra Rashtra Power Employees Union held here on Monday.
Tirupati: Bharatiya Mazdoor Sangh (BMS) national vice-president Lakshma Reddy has demanded that the central government should pay equal wages for equal work to the labourers and employees across the country. The BMS leader participated as chief guest for the state-level executive meeting of the Andhra Rashtra Power Employees Union held here on Monday.

Addressing the union leaders and workers, Lakshma Reddy came down heavily on NITI Aayog for its proposals against welfare of workers and farmers. He stated that the central government had appointed NITI Aayog for making better policies to the people.
“Unfortunately, NITI Aayog panel is proposing to the central government to cut down the subsidies and other incentives to the farming and other allied fields,” he slammed. Lakshma Reddy found fault with the recommendation of NITI Aayog to impose the income tax on agriculture income.
Later, Andhra Rashtra Power Employees Union president Boja Raju said that the state government should provide more facilities and benefits to the both permanent and outsourced employees working in the Discoms.
He called upon the employees to fight for the job security and facilities. He demanded that the government should provide promotions for employees as per the rule of reservation. In the meeting, BMS state president Gangaiah and other local leaders were present.
