As Kapu leader Mudragada Padmanabham is all set to kick off the Padayatra today, high tension is prevailing around Kirlampudi. Nearly 2,000 police personnel have been deployed in order to prevent the Padayatra.

In East Godavari district alone, around 5,000 police personnel were on duty to stop untoward incidents that might arise out of padayatra.
The Kapu leader had announced the 126-km padayatra from Kirlampudi to Amaravati covering several villages and towns in 25 days demanding Kapu Reservation but the police informed that Mudragada had not sought permission to conduct the Padayatra.
