Two killed in road mishap as car plunges into canal

Two people were killed in a road mishap after the car they were travelling in plunged into a canal.

Police informed that the two people in the car died due to drowning. The incident took place near Thallapalem village of Nidadavolu mandal in West Godavari district in the early hours of Sunday.

Identified as Kambala Sairam and Gopichand, the deceased were residents of Vijayawada and had been on the way to Rajahmundry. Police have registered a case and are investigating.
