Heavy rain is likely to occur in several parts of Andhra Pradesh as the southwest monsoon has become active over Rayalaseema and coastal AP over the past 24 hours. The Indian Meterological Department (IMD) has issued a warning that the rain could persist for the next four days.

According to the IMD, the prevailing weather system may trigger heavy rain and thunderstorm at isolated places in all the districts of coastal Andhra Pradesh.

Visakhapatnam recorded 25 mm of rainfall on Saturday and the humidity levels were extremely high, at 93%. Last week, heavy rains lashed Telangana and AP leaving the roads inundated and bringing the traffic to a complete standstill in several parts of Hyderabad.
