Amaravati: Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu claimed that Andhra Pradesh is the only State in the country which is providing security to the people in the sectors of education, employment and other prominent sectors.

Extending his greetings to the people of the State and the Telugu people living in other States and abroad on the occasion of the Independence Day, the Chief Minister recalled the sacrifices made by several freedom fighters like Palegallu of Chittoor district, Uyyalawada Narasimha Reddy, Alluri Sitaramaraju, Tanguturi Prakasam Pantulu and others during the freedom struggle.

He said it is a matter of pride for Telugu people that the national flag was designed by Pingali Venkayya, a Telugu man. He also recalled that Rabindranath Tagore wrote the national anthem at Madanapalle BT College in Chittoor district, when he stayed there before Independence.

Elaborating the achievements made by his government during the last three years, he said in a release that the State has overcome 22.5 million units of electricity deficit and now it has became a surplus State in power generation. He maintained that by completing Pattiseema lift irrigation scheme in a record time, the government is providing Godavari water to Krishna delta for the past two years. He reiterated that the Polavaram Project will be completed by 2019.
