‘Swatantra Bharathi’ a dance feature was showcased by Suravarapu Ramesh and his troupe on Wednesday evening at Ghantasala Venkateswara Rao Government Music and Dance College.

‘Swatantra Bharathi’ a dance feature was showcased by Suravarapu Ramesh and his troupe on Wednesday evening at Ghantasala Venkateswara Rao Government Music and Dance College. This dance feature was presented in association with Department of Language of Culture, Government of Andhra Pradesh and Chaitanya Vedika. The main concept of the feature is to depict the important moments of Indian freedom.

It started from the British period and ends with India’s Independence. Incidents like 1857 first freedom movement, Jalianwala Bagh massacre that took place on April 13, 1919, Boycott of Simon Commission as ‘Simon Go Back’, the freedom movement of Jhansi Lakshmi, Quit India movement launched by Gandhiji on August 8, 1942, Salt march by the Congress in 1930 led by Mahatma Gandhiji and also the National freedom movement led by the freedom fighters like Bhagat Singh, Chandrasekara Azad, Subash Chandra Bose, Tangutui Prakasma Pantulu, Alluri Seetarama Raju were portrayed effectively by the team.

The main cast of the feature are Gopal as Gandhi, Srinivas as Bhagat singh, Kumar as Alluri Sitaramaraju, Hemasundar as Netaji, Sai Priyadarshini as Jhansi, Mohanram and Vasu as leaders and the students of SRR college were exhibited their talent. The feature was penned and directed by Suravarapu Ramesh Babu, and the music was by Kumara Suryanarayana.
