Cordon search operation held in Eluru
Eluru city and rural police conducted a cordon search on the outskirts of the city on Sunday evening and seized 60 kg ganja. The search was carried out following a tip-off to district SP M Ravi Prakash that some anti-social elements were active on the outskirts of the Eluru city.

On the direction of SP, a police team led by Eluru DSP Gogula Venkateswara Rao, CIs N Rajasekhar, Adapa Nagamurali, G Madhubabu and 100 constables and special parties team raided areas of Satrampadu, Shantinagar, Yadav Nagar, MRC Colony and Vatluru Housing Board Colony at 5 pm.
Police teams also searched a house behind the Law College in Shantinagar on information about sale of ganja. They found ganja in their houses and arrested house owners Gandham Tirupatamma and V Padmavathi. Police also said that they had also checked the movement of rowdy-sheeters in those areas and also known dacoits (KDs).
