Hyderabad: During the last 24 hours ending at 8.30 am on Tuesday, the southwest monsoon was normal over the coastal and Rayalaseema districts. Rain occurred at many places over Rayalaseema. There was rain at a few places in coastal Andhra.

The chief amounts of rainfall (in cm) in two regions of the State were: Royachoti (Kadapa dist) 4, Punganur, Satyavedu (both Chittoor), Chinnamandem (Kadapa), Vinjamur (Nellore), Komarada (Vizianagaram), Racherla (Prakasam), Bobbili (Vizianagaram), Tenali (Guntur) and Veligandla (Prakasam) 3 each.

There was two cm of rain each in Kavali, Udayagiri, Yerragondapalem, Rajampet, Yemmiganur, Thambalapalle, Nandavaram, Pakala, Orvakal, Nandyal, Kunurpi, Gurramkonda and Ramagiri. There was one cm of rain each in Mentada, SHAR, Cheepurupalle, Kandukur, Mundlamuru,

Srungavarapukota, Seetharamapuram, Sullurpet, Gudur, Nellimarla, Atmakur, Venkatagiri, Addanki, Repalle, Sambepalle, Palamaner, Holagunda, Dharmavaram, Tadimarri, Tirumala, Kalyandrug, Pullampet, Manthralayam, Kalakada, Penagaluru, Gonegandla, Kanekal and Gudurand C Belagal.

The Met department bulletin warned of isolated heavy rain lashing all coastal districts on August 24 and 25.The forecast said light to moderate rain/thundershowers are very likely to occur at a few/many/most places over Coastal Andhra from August 23 to 25. Showers have been forecast in a few/many places Rayalaseema from August 23 to 25. No large change during the subsequent three days is the weather outlook.
