Develop job skills, students exhorted
Sri Krishnadevaraya University (SKU) Rector Lajapathi Rai has advised the students to inculcate hard work, discipline and develop skills to be the first to secure jobs. Addressing an orientation meet for the first year B Tech students in the SKU campus on Wednesday, Lajapathi Rai observed that only 15 per cent of those who are taking degrees are getting jobs.

Addressing an orientation meet for the first year B Tech students in the SKU campus on Wednesday, Lajapathi Rai observed that only 15 per cent of those who are taking degrees are getting jobs.
He said that that employers are giving more weightage to skills in a person rather than marks scored. SKU Registrar K Sudhakar Babu has stated that students should keep abreast of the latest developments in technology. They should concentrate on studies and improve their skills from their first year onwards in the B Tech course. He called upon the students to take advantage of the newly established incubation centre in the campus.
