While a TDP activist was seen wielding a knife, YSRCP supporters hurled stones at TDP activists. The situation went out of control and police had to intervene to diffuse the tension.

The clashes have occurred in the backdrop of by-poll for Nandyala Assembly seat which took place on Wednesday as the two parties indulged in a war of words during the campaign.

Responding to the clashes, Tourism Minister Bhuma Akhila Priya slammed the YSRCP leaders for attacking the TDP leaders and said that they did it due to the fear of defeat in elections.

Stating that she has more responsibility as a Minister to protect the people and thier party activists, Akhila Priya said that such things cannot be tolerated and that stern action will be taken against the guilty.

She further questioned the YSRCP party's strategy and as to what message they are trying to spread to the public.
