30 IIIT students hurt in seniors’ attack
At least 30 students of the reputed IIIT (Nuzvid) suffered injuries when seniors attacked them on the suspicion of leaking information about their activities on the campus to the officials. Though the incident took place on Tuesday night, it came to light only on Thursday.

The fourth-year engineering students summoned their juniors at the auditorium and beat them up very badly. All the students who suffered injuries were being treated on the campus itself without allowing the police to intervene.
According to reports, the campus has six dining halls. A mess recently installed a statue of Lord Ganesha. The seniors wanted to celebrate the event and planned to arrange sound system. However, their request was rejected by the officials.
Suspecting the role of juniors in this, the seniors acted aggressively and bashed up all the juniors. Both Vice-Chancellor and Director were on leave. Taking advantage of the situation, the seniors attacked their juniors.
When the juniors approached in-charge Director, he decided to hand over the issue to the disciplinary committee. He allegedly stopped the police from entering the campus. He reportedly told the police not to involve themselves in the case to save the future and career prospects of the students.
Following this, the police compromised and remained indifferent. The students have been applying pain balms and other medicines on wounds as they have an arrangement for the same on the campus.
According to sources, both Vice-Chancellor and Director may attend duties on Friday and take a decision on issue of the deteriorating situation of law and order on the campus.
