Heavy rains lash Chittoor

Heavy downpour for three hours has paralyzed normal life in Chittoor city on Friday. According to officials concerned, 14 mm rainfall recorded in Chittoor mandal. Motorists, pedestrians and students had a tough time to cross the roads at Church Street, Hospital Road, MSR Circle and at several other places as the rainwater flooded the roads.

The Transco officials stopped power supply as a precautionary measure. However, residents are hopeful rain would mitigate drinking water shortage to some extent. The Gangineni tank received a sizeable quantity of water with rain lashing the city.
