Speaking on the occasion, he said that that it was only a temporary phenomenon as they had to opt for an immediate solution, but insisted that the revival of rivers was the permanent solution.

Taking credit for linking of the Krishna and Godavari rivers in the state, Chandrababu explained his advocacy of interlinking of rivers and said that the survival is possible only through linking the rivers as places have floods and others have droughts.

Reminding the people regarding the Vanam Manam and Jalasiriki Harati programmes which focuses on the irrigation water for farmers and afforestation, the Chief Minister vowed to make AP a model state in revival of rivers.

Lauding the efforts of Sadguru Jaggi Vasudev who launched the Rally for Rivers campaign, he said that the state would be the first to implement the policy.
