Nellore: Agriculture Minister Somireddy Chandramohan Reddy said the State government would issue white ration cards for the eligible in February 2018 during Janmabhoomi public meetings.

The Minister participated in Intintiki Telugu Desam programme at 4th division here on Wednesday. Somireddy along with city Mayor Sk Abdul Aziz laid foundation for construction of cement concrete drains at Zakir Hussain Nagar with a cost of Rs 25 lakh funds provided under 14th Finance Commission. Somireddy distributed pamphlets in the division and explained about welfare schemes being implemented by the state government.

He also appealed to the party workers to create awareness on welfare programmes meant for the poor. He said that state government has been implementing several welfare schemes for the uplift of poor. The Minister also exuded confidence of TDP coming to power in 2019 as the people of the state are appreciating developmental works taken up by ruling government.

All the issues being raised by the people during Intintiki Telugu Desam programme would be resolved at the earliest, he said made an appeal to tribal population to utilise welfare schemes provided to them with 90 per cent subsidy.

Somireddy said that they would strive hard for effective functioning of PDS after resolving minor issues. Further, the Mayor said that measures would be taken to provide social security pensions to the eligible in the city.

Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu has been striving hard for providing housing to the poor across the state in all areas, he appreciated and urged the people to enrol their names in Chandranna Bima scheme to get benefits. NUDA chairman K Srinivasulu Reddy, former legislator M Sridhar Krishna Reddy and other leaders were present.
