Elaborate arrangements will be made for the successful conduct of Dasara festivities on Indrakeeladri in Vijayawada from September 21 to 30.
Vijayawada: Elaborate arrangements will be made for the successful conduct of Dasara festivities on Indrakeeladri in Vijayawada from September 21 to 30.
The government is officially conducting the celebrations and spending crores of rupees for the annual event for the arrangements. Minister for Water Resources Devineni Umamaheswara Rao, MPs Konakalla Narayana, MP Kesineni Srinivas, District Collector B Lakshmikantham and other officials conducted a review meeting with the here on Wednesday.
The Minister enquired about the security, drinking water supply to be supplied to the devotees, RTC buses to be operated for the convenience of devotees, bathing ghats, arrangements for the stay in guest houses, medical and health camps and other arrangements.
The RTC officials said nearly 1,000 buses will be operated for the nine day festival and medical and health department to conduct 23 medical camps at various places with medical teams. The fire department officials said they are ready with staff and adequate equipment and electricity officials said the staff will be on duty round-the-clock for the successful conduct of celebrations.
Speaking on the occasion, Devineni Umamaheswara Rao asked the officials to be gear up to host the festivities. He said Vijayawada Municipal Corporation and Krishna district administration successfully conducted Krishna Pushkaralu and felt Dasara celebrations will be organised in a similar manner.
