Division bench of the High Court (HC) at Hyderabad for the state of Telangana and AP on Tuesday directed Srikakulam district judge to appoint a senior civil judge for inspection of standing crops in Vamsadhara project area and file a report on it in the wake of public interest litigation (PIL) filed by the vice president of human rights forum (HRF) KV Jagannadha Rao.

Srikakulam: Division bench of the High Court (HC) at Hyderabad for the state of Telangana and AP on Tuesday directed Srikakulam district judge to appoint a senior civil judge for inspection of standing crops in Vamsadhara project area and file a report on it in the wake of public interest litigation (PIL) filed by the vice president of human rights forum (HRF) KV Jagannadha Rao.

HRF vice president and CPM district secretary B Krishna Murthy addressing a press conference on Wednesday alleged that with the pressure of the stategovernment; revenue and police officials tried to evict displaced people of Padali, Duggupuram, Tulagam, Chinnakollivalasa and Garlapadu villages in Hiramandalam mandalam, focibly and damaged crops.

The HC directed the district judge of Srikakulam to appoint a senior civil judge for inspection of standing crops in the above five villages along with petitioner on September 16 and report on it by September 18 and postpone the final hearing date to September 19.
