MLA Vamsi surrenders gunman
Gannavaram MLA Vallabhaneni Vamsi surrendered his gunman to the government on Tuesday. The MLA had asked the government to sanction two plus two gunmen.
Vijayawada: Gannavaram MLA Vallabhaneni Vamsi surrendered his gunman to the government on Tuesday. The MLA had asked the government to sanction two plus two gunmen. However, there was no positive response from the government. In what can be perceived as a protest, the MLA sent back the security provided to him.
After surrendering security, he said that his gunman had one pistol. No carbine weapon was provided. I had been asking the government to increase my security for three-and-a-half years. I submitted three of my licensed weapons for renewal three years ago. They never gave me back, he added.
Vamsi Mohan’s latest action in surrendering security man gave speculation over his aggressive stance at the government. When he hugged YSRCP chief YS Jaganmohan Reddy a few years ago, that also created sensation.
