Land dispute claims man’s life
A land dispute between siblings claimed a man’s life at Gorantla village under Kodumur mandal in the district on Wednesday. Speaking to the media here, Kodumur SI D Mahesh Kumar said P Giddaiah, P Ramanjaneyulu, P Ganganna and P Sunkanna were brothers while Giddaiah was the eldest of the four.
Kodumur (Kurnool): A land dispute between siblings claimed a man’s life at Gorantla village under Kodumur mandal in the district on Wednesday. Speaking to the media here, Kodumur SI D Mahesh Kumar said P Giddaiah, P Ramanjaneyulu, P Ganganna and P Sunkanna were brothers while Giddaiah was the eldest of the four.
He said that all the four brothers were married and were staying separately with their family members. A land dispute was simmering between Giddiah and the other three brothers for quite some time and all the four used to quarrel frequently over the issue. The three brothers had attacked Giddaiah on several occasions.
With the intervention of the community elders and other family members, the issue seems to have settled temporarily. However, on Wednesday morning, Ramanjaneyulu, Ganganna and Sunkanna picked up a quarrel with Giddaiah. In a fit of rage, all the three brothers attacked him with an axe from behind.
The SI said that the astonished family members found Giddaiah lying in a pool of blood on the floor. The victim was rushed to the Kurnool General Hospital where the doctors at the hospital declared him brought dead. The police registered a case.
