Vijayawada: CPM CRDA Region Coordination Committee convener Ch Baburao demanded that the government immediately withdraw the decision of allocating 49 acres of costly lands on the banks of river Krishna near Krishnaveni Ghat to private companies on the pretext of development.
He alleged that the government is trying to allocate 49 acres land belonging to Rajiv Park and part of municipal corporation office land against the wish of the people of Vijayawada. He said these lands cost several hundred of crores. Addressing a media conference at the district party office here on Thursday,
Ch Baburao said the corporation has recently passed a resolution to hand over 27 acres land to a foreign company for development of City Square. The CPM leader said all these efforts are being made on the directions of Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu. CPM city secretary Donepudi Kasinath was also present.
