Visakhapatnam: The rural police rescued a minor tribal girl and admitted her in a corporate hospital here on Monday. She has been suffering from coronary heart disease and had no resources or funds for treatment.

Deputy Superintendent of Police Chintapalle identified the case and immediately shifted her to Visakhapatnam. The patient Korra Bhavani, 17, is a native of GK Veedhi mandal in the Agency.

The doctors team led by Dr Karunakar Padhi examined the patient and suggested she needed replacement of mitral valve. As she needed five units of blood, Deputy Superintendent Anil Pulipati himself donated blood. Other police personnel also donated blood inspired by the DSP.
