Left parties condemn attack on Ilaiah
The Left parties and people’s organisations have condemned the protest of the Arya Vysya community members against Professor Kancha Ilaiah for writing a book ‘Samajika Smugglerlu Komatollu’. They extended support to Kancha Ilaiah and said that stir against him is curtailing the freedom of expression.

A round-table conference was held here at Ambedkar Bhavan on Monday, under the leadership of RPI state president Anjaiah. In the conference, Rayalaseema Adyayanala Samastha (RAS) chairman Bhuman gave a call to people to condemn the attack on social activist and writer Ilaiah.
He stated writer has expressed his opinion on Arya Vysya community. If Arya Vysyas differ with his opinion, they can also publish a book criticising his views, Bhuman said and added that staging protests against Ilaiah is not good for democracy. CPM district secretary Kumar Reddy called upon the SC, ST, and OBCs to fight unitedly against the feudalistic persons and organisations.
RPI leader Anjaiah said that BC, SC, and ST associations from Tirupati will oppose protests of Arya Vysyas against Ilaiah. CPI city secretary C Penchalaiah demanded that the state government should arrest Rajya Sabha member TG Venkatesh, who had threatened writer Ilaiah. In the meeting, UTF state leader Devarala Nirmala, BC Association leader A Raju, SC Employees District Association president Paramasivan and other leaders also present.
