New Delhi: AP Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu said his government would not allow Kancha Ilaiah's book on Arya Vysyas to be in circulation. “There are no copies of the book available in the state now and we will ensure the same in future, too,” he said.

Condemning the work, the Chief Minister here on Tuesday said no writer had any right to hurt the sentiments of others. Those attempting to write books should show a balance of mind and maturity, he added.

Arya Vysyas have been agitating in the state seeking a ban on the book in the two Telugu states ever since. Countering it, Dalit groups have been coming onto the streets in support of Kancha Ilaiah.

It may be noted here that Naidu had earlier discussed the issue with senior officials, including DGP N Sambasiva Rao in the wake of protests from the Vysya community against the book.

Earlier Andhra Pradesh Arya Vysya Corporation Sadhana Samithi Corporation chairman Konijeti Ramesh demanded a ban on the book stating that Ilaiah had written the book to create disputes among various sections of the people.

Naidu till now adopted a wait-and-watch approach keeping an eye on the law and order situation In Telangana, Minister Harish Rao, too, condemned the book and hinted action against Ilaiah if a proper apology was not forthcoming.
