YSR Congress Party MLA Roja extended her support to the Dharna in Puttur of Chittoor district, where women are protesting against setting up of liquor shops in between residential areas.
Reacting strongly against the TDP government in this regard, she said that many are losing their lives due to the alcohol addiction and stressed that the government should strive for the welfare of the people.
Roja criticized the government saying that wine shops are being given permission in order to earn excise revenue.
The YSRCP leader further said that the women and girls are facing abusive remarks from the drunkards with wine shops in the household area and demanded the state government to shift their locations.
