Amaravati: TDP Anantapur Lok Sabha member J C Diwakar Reddy said he withdrew his decision on resignation from his MP seat after he was given assurance by Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu that he would address the public issues in Anantapur constituency.

Speaking to reporters after meeting the Chief Minister at the Secretariat on Friday, Diwakar Reddy said he had taken the decision to resign from Lok Sabha a few days ago due to displeasure over unfulfilled promise on release of water to his constituency. “Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu responded immediately over the issue and the government immediately issued GO allotting water to Chagallu reservoir,” he said.

Maintaining that his threat of resignation was not a blackmail, the MP alleged that some ‘evil forces’ were trying to stop the development in his constituency. He was reluctant to disclose the names of those persons. He also made it clear that he would do anything as per aspirations of the people.

Taking a dig at YSR Congress chief Y S Jaganmohan Reddy, Diwakar Reddy said the dream of Opposition leader to become chief minister would not be realised and it would be better for him to leave politics. “Jaganmohan Reddy can’t even begin padayatra as he has to attend court every Friday,” the senior leader said.
