The Flag Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Eastern Naval Command (ENC), Vice-Admiral HCS Bisht, launched an under-trainee sailors block at INS Vishwakarma here on Wednesday. The inauguration ceremony was attended by Flag officers and personnel of the ENC.

Visakhapatnam: The Flag Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Eastern Naval Command (ENC), Vice-Admiral HCS Bisht, launched an under-trainee sailors block at INS Vishwakarma here on Wednesday. The inauguration ceremony was attended by Flag officers and personnel of the ENC.

The newly constructed a three-storeyed building named 'Vishal’ has all the modern amenities such as a spacious dining hall, state-of-art gallery, recreation room, reading room and play area for the in-living junior sailors. Complying with green room, the building has been constructed using fly-ash bricks, has large glass windows to ensure natural light and has been designed to provide sufficient ventilation.

Arboriculture has been carried out on the building premises and water sprinklers provide water through rainwater harvesting tank. Solar water heaters for galley and wash spaces have also been provided to reduce the consumption of electricity. INS Vishwakarma is a training establishment of the Indian Navy for training naval constructors, shipwright officers, hull artificers and civilian design staff (Construction cadres).
