Prominent Dalit writer Kancha Ilaiah courted controversy through his book 'Komatollu Saamajika Smuggllerlu' (Vysyas are social smugglers) and a case was even filed against him in the Supreme Court for allegedly hurting religious feelings through his book on the Arya Vysya community.

However, with the SC's verdict in favour of the writer, a felicitation ceremony has been arranged in Vijayawada for Kancha Ilaiah which will take place on October 28th.

While Kancha Ilaiah stated that he would attend the felicitation definitely, the Brahmin and Arya Vaisya leaders warned asserting that they would stop the ceremony with every effort.
