Certificate course on Gandhian philosophy launched

Kakinada: A three-month certificate course on Gandhian philosophy was launched at the Annavaram Satya Deva Government Degree College for Women here on Friday. In-charge Principal of college V Anantha Lakshmi presided over the inaugural meeting and asked the students to follow the Gandhian principles which are essential for a peaceful living in the current society.

Speaking on the occasion, the chief guest, Political Science Prof I Dosagiri Rao said that Gandhiji was a great human being and he sacrificed his entire life to liberate India from the British colonial rule. He said Gandhi lived a simple life with high thinking and added that Gandhian principles can develop humanity.

Another guest from Gandhian Study Centre, Y N College Narsapuram, Prof D Venkateswara Rao highlighted the objectives and significance of course. He urged the government to introduce a course on Gandhi in all colleges and schools in the State. Speaking on the occasion, Y N College treasurer Dr Y Gopala Krishna Murthy said every Indian should read the biography of Gandhiji which gives them confidence.
