Tirupati: Former Congress MP Chinta Mohan has performed puja at Alipiri Padala Mandapam on Friday as part of a novel protest against Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu’s attitude towards development of Tirupati. Chinta said he got sanctioned seven projects during the tenure of the Congress-led UPA government for the development of Tirupati. He alleged that the TD government has put all these seven projects aside.

The programmes were aimed at benefiting unemployed, poor women, students and youth. He offered prayers to the Lord seeking change in the mindset of the Chief Minister so that he may give nod for all seven projects. Significantly, he chose Alipiri for his protest, where the Chief Minister got a rebirth after the Naxals attacked him in 2003.

He demanded the Chief Minister to answer why he has stalled those development works. To create awareness among the people on this, he proposed to take up programmes of ‘Congress to every doorstep’ from November 1 and Congress to every street from Saturday. Congress leaders, Prameelamma, N Srinivasulu, KM Satyanarayana, and P Prabhakar among others participated.
