Samanya Kiran selected under Kathanika category
Noted story writer in Telugu, Dr Samanya Kiran, has been selected for the award by Telugu University under ‘Kathanika’ category. The award will be presented at the university in Hyderabad in the last week of this month. Samanya expressed happiness for the award and thanked the jury in a programme organised here on Friday.

Samanya said, “The Telugu University is recognising the talent and giving awards in 11 categories since 1986. My story, ‘Kothagudem Poragadiko Love Letter’, was selected for 2015 award. The story is based on the emotions of people from Telangana and Andhra regions during the tensed moments of Telangana agitation and bifurcation of the state.
As of now, 26 people received the award for the Kathanika category in which only three are women, including me. The story was published in a book with the same title from which other stories ‘Kalpana’, ‘Dongala Santa’ etc also received great response from readers and writers.”
