Handball players from two Telugu States registered victories on Sunday in the South Zone Inter-University Handball Tournament which is being held at Vikas Educational Institutions in Nunna on the outskirts of Vijayawada.

The five-day tourney began on Saturday. On the second day, hosts Krishna University team defeated Thiruvalluvar University (TN) by 35-24 goals.
Krishna University players dominated the match from the beginning and continued lead till the end.
By half time, the score was 20-10. In second half, Tamil Nadu players taken advantage by penalty and scored some points. Later, the KRU players changed strategy and ended the match with a score of 35-24 goals to reach third round.
In other matches, Andhra University and Rayalaseema University teams and Osmania University of Hyderabad teams registered victories to reach third round.
