Kakinada: Superintendent of Police Vishal Gunni on Saturday said the police from Kakinada, Peddapuram and Mummidivaram arrested six on charges of selling adulterated petrol and a petrol bunk owner.

Speaking to the media, Vishal Gunni said, on a tip-off, a team of two DSP level officers and two Circle Inspectors raided petrol bunks and some other petroleum product selling units in the district.

The SP said that the police seized 20,000 litres of Light Diesel Oil worth Rs 8 lakh from Vijaya Lakshmi Marine Consumer Oil Bunk at Yetimoga Road, Jagannadhapuram and arrested bunk owner Medapati.Dharma Reddy.

He said this petrol bunk has neither licence to sell petrol nor maintaining any records.

Gunni informed that Circle Inspectors of One Town and Sarpavaram Eswarudu and Chaitanya Krishna arrested 5 members Malladi.Durga Rao, Malladi.Dharma Rao, Pothabathula Rajasekhar, Illangi Srinivas and Rimmalapudi.Venkata Raju who are secretly selling adulterated diesel oil and seized 800 litres of Mineral Turpentine Oil worth Rs 40,000.

In another incident, Peddapuram CI Prasanna Kumar Gowd raided Vijaya Saradhi Petrol Bunk at ADB Road and seized 13,000 litres of Kerosene and 10,000 litres of MTO. Mummidivaram CI KTTV Ramana raided Siva Ganga Bio Diesel at Muramalla and seized 750 litres of MTO. SP said all the petrol bunks made it a habit of selling adulterated fuel to autos, fishing boats and lorries.

He said the government is losing huge revenue by this adulterated diesel oil and it is estimated that a 20,000 adulterated oil tanker can fetch Rs 3.40 lakh.
