Tirupati: Saint Annamacharya said in his keerthanas all are equal before god, but a duty clerk working in TTD Annamacharya Project allegedly has shown caste discrimination towards a Dalit woman employee.

A casual artist Asha Deepika, who is working in the TTD Annamacharya Project, has claimed that she sought permission of duty clerk Sriramulu Reddy for performing a music concert on October 22.

She alleged that he did not allow her to perform the music concert. Instead, he abused me in front of other colleagues by caste, she accused. The victim brought the incident to the notice of higher officials of the TTD Annamacharya Project seeking justice.

She said that no action was taken against duty clerk even after one week. She lodged a police case against duty clerk under SC/ST Atrocities Act. Tirupati West police has registered a case based on Deepika’s complaint.

The TTD SC Association leaders have condemned caste discrimination against SC woman artist and demanded the TTD officials to take stern action against Sriramulu Reddy.
