Heavy rain occurred at isolated places over coastal Andhra Pradesh and Rayalaseema during the last 24 hours ending at 8.30 am on Wednesday, with  Srikalahasti in Chittoor district recording nine cm of rainfall and Gudur (Nellore) and Thottabedu (Chittoor) eight cm each. 

Hyderabad: Heavy rain occurred at isolated places over coastal Andhra Pradesh and Rayalaseema during the last 24 hours ending at 8.30 am on Wednesday, with Srikalahasti in Chittoor district recording nine cm of rainfall and Gudur (Nellore) and Thottabedu (Chittoor) eight cm each.

There were heavy showers in Nellore district under the influence of the cyclonic circulation. The rainfall figures in the district were Venkatagiri 7, Sullurpet, Shar, Nellore 5 each, Rapur 4 and Tada 3.

The chief amounts of rainfall (in cm) in Rayalaseema were: Tirupati Airport, Satyavedu (Chittoor) 5, Tirumala 3, Kodur (Kadapa), Puttur (Chittoor) 2, Nagari and Utukuru one each, the Met department bulletin said on Wednesday.

According to the forecast, thunderstorms with heavy rain are very likely to occur at isolated places in Nellore district of south coastal Andhra and Chittoor on November 2.

Heavy rain is likely to occur at isolated places in Guntur, Prakasam and Nellore districts on November 4 and 5. The bulletin said there was an appreciable rise in the night temperatures at a few places over Rayalaseema and no large change across Coastal Andhra Pradesh during the last 24 hours.
