Ongole MP seeks central probe into boat mishap
MP YV Subbareddy wrote a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi demanding him to provide Rs 20 lakh ex gratia for each person died in the boat mishap and order an enquiry by the central government agency.
Ongole: MP YV Subbareddy wrote a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi demanding him to provide Rs 20 lakh ex gratia for each person died in the boat mishap and order an enquiry by the central government agency.
The MP said in the letter that 18 of 22 people died in the boat mishap were from Prakasam district and the incident occurred due to sheer negligence of AP government.
He said Rs 8 lakh ex gratia for victim’s family offered by the State government is not enough and requested the PM to announce Rs 20 lakh from the Central government.
He also requested the Centre to order the State government to take care of needs of the victim’s family members including the education and medical expenditure. He asked the Prime Minister to order the probing agencies to do justice to bereaved families on humanitarian grounds.
