Kingpin, 8 members of gang held for duping people
The police here on Monday arrested the kingpin of a gang and eight others for cheating a person to the tune of Rs 5 lakh in the name of selling an alloy ‘Kalasam’ worth Rs 1 crore and seized from them Rs 3.53 lakh in cash, some mobile phones and two motorcycles.

They offered to sell the ‘Kalasham’ to Srinivas Goud of Yerraguduru for Rs 5 lakh claiming that it has magical atomic energy properties and the ‘Kalasham’ has iridium as one of the metals. The kingpin was identified as Narasimha, a habitual fraudster.
He also offered to sell a coin that has rice pulling properties. In fact, he heated a copper kalasham and prepared it to be a magical kalasa containing iridium. He asked Srinivas Goud to come with cash to a certain place in the Nallamala forest region.
When Srinivas Goud complied with the request, the gang members who laid in wait attacked him and snatched the money from him. The victim complained to DSP Madhava Reddy, who pressed into service CI Krishnaiah, SIs Lokesh and Venkata Subbaiah and head constable Gangadhar to nab the culprits. They chased the gang members and arrested them.
