Regularisation of home guards a pipe dream in AP!
The Andhra Pradesh government on Tuesday ruled out any chance of regularising homeguards in the state. Deputy Chief Minister Nimmakayala Chinnarajappa said that the state government is not in a position to increase the salaries due to the state\'s financial condition.

After Question Hour in AP legislature assembly, discussion was held on issues pertaining to people's interest. The BJP Legislature Party leader Vishnu Kumar Raju raised this issue under the 74th clause. Chinnarajappa told the House that the state government had already hiked the Daily Allowance (DA) from Rs 300 to Rs 400 for homeguards.
Even the Supreme Court has recognised the service of the homeguards as voluntary one, he said. So there is no point in regularise the services, he explained.
