After Question Hour in AP legislature assembly, discussion was held on issues pertaining to people's interest. The BJP Legislature Party leader Vishnu Kumar Raju raised this issue under the 74th clause. Chinnarajappa told the House that the state government had already hiked the Daily Allowance (DA) from Rs 300 to Rs 400 for homeguards.

Even the Supreme Court has recognised the service of the homeguards as voluntary one, he said. So there is no point in regularise the services, he explained.
