Visakhapatnam: FinTech Academy of GITAM University signed an MoU with Ngee Ann Polytechnic, Singapore, in the areas of faculty and student exchange programme to strengthen the FinTech eco system in the country.

Ngee Ann Poly was founded in 1963 long before they achieved independence from the British rule in 1966. The institute was founded by Ngee Ann Konsi and is now a fully-fledged polytechnic, a public institution overseen by an independent council.

Since its inception, the college has won accolades as an institution of higher learning, providing broad-based and holistic learning, building strategic alliances and providing enriching overseas experiences to prepare its students for a global workplace.

GITAM FinTech Academy coordinator Leben Johnson attended the last Singapore FinTech Festival in November 2017. Speaking on the occasion, he said that Ngee Ann Polytechnic, Singapore, was actively engaged with the latest technologies like augmented reality and virtual reality, 3-D printing and cyber security, which falls into the FinTech domain, and would be a great learning experience.

Ngee Ann Poly also strongly believes in the importance of overseas exchange programme. Next year, Ann Polytechnic team plans to send about 20 students for a three-week Overseas Cultural Immersion programme to GITAM University in March 2018.
