The 71st Joint Committee meeting on Safety, Health and Environment in the Steel Industry (JCSSI) was held under the aegis of SAIL Safety Organisation, Ranchi, at Management Development Centre of Visakhapatnam Steel Plant on Thursday.  

Visakhapatnam: The 71st Joint Committee meeting on Safety, Health and Environment in the Steel Industry (JCSSI) was held under the aegis of SAIL Safety Organisation, Ranchi, at Management Development Centre of Visakhapatnam Steel Plant on Thursday.

Speaking on the occasion, Director (Personnel) of RINL KC Das stressed that the member organisations should always adopt proactive approach in terms of having safety, health and environment strategies.

He also urged to inculcate safety culture across organisations and mindset should be appropriately changed. He emphasised that the new inductees could be groomed to be safety conscious from the beginning.

Vice-Chairman-JCSSI and President-INTUC G Sanjeeva Reddy stressed the need to accord more importance and priority to the safety and health of the employees, including contract workers, and called upon that the leaders of the corporate to accord top priority to the safety measures.

Vice-Chairman-JCSSI and Executive Director (Safety) of SSO RK Tripathi emphasised that employees should develop the habit of safety culture while discharging their duties. S Vashishta, Member-Secretary of JCSSI S Vashishta and Director (Operations) RINL PK Rath were present.
