Kothagudem: Pulipaka Subrahmanyam, a young entrepreneur hailing from this place, is going to take part in the upcoming Global Entrepreneurship Summit in Hyderabad with plans to take forward his mission of providing solar power to rural areas.

As many as 1,500 entrepreneurs from 150 countries are participating in the Summit, including 500 from the country. It is a rare opportunity for Subrahmanyam, a BITS Pilani graduate, who anchors a startup SOREVA at Gurugram, New Delhi, with ‘Solar Power for Women Empowerment’ as the theme.

Subrahmanyam points out that SOREVA, launched with six of his friends on board, is aimed at providing solar power to rural areas. The company would bring solar power to 200 villages in the next three years. According to him, SOREVA has gained international reputation with the effective implementation of a project given by the National Institute of Solar Energy.

Subrahmanyam says that he has attended conferences in 70 countries and addressed them on the theme ‘Solar Power for Women Empowerment’. Besides, SOREVA has joined hands with an American firm to implement a project in Guinea, Africa.

Recalling his participation in the first Global Solar Energy Forum in 2016, he says it is a rare opportunity for an entrepreneur like him to participate in the upcoming GES. He credits his parents for unstinted support in his accomplishments.
