Tension prevailed at AP Secretariat here in Velagapudi when two woman attempted suicide by consuming pesticide on Tuesday. Vijayawada: Tension prevailed at AP Secretariat here in Velagapudi when two woman attempted suicide by consuming pesticide on Tuesday. The victims who were identified as Shakira and Fathima in their 20s lost their father Mahboob Fira, who worked as VEO in agriculture department 20 years ago. Since then, the family members have been going to pillar to post urging every official to get their father's job to anyone in their family.
On Tuesday, Fathika, Shakira along with their family members came to Velagapudi to meet AP CM Chandrababu Naidu for job assistance. When they were denied entry at the Secretariat, Fathima and her sister consumed pesticide that they brought along with them. The security who noticed them alerted the police personnel.
They were immediately shifted to a hospital. Their health condition is stated to be critical. Such incidents are not new at AP Secretariat. Just a month ago, a woman tried to kill herself by consuming sleeping pills when she was not allowed to meet the Chief Minister.
