Kakinada: MLA Vanamadi Venkateswara Rao launched a 2K running event in the wake of the beach festival along with District Sports Authority, Education Department and Municipal Corporation officials here from the Two-Town Police Station to Pedda Masjid Centre on Sunday.

Speaking on this occasion, MLA states, “The people need a pleasant atmosphere to enjoy the development and the welfare. The state government is conducting different festivals and fairs officially in the state for this cause.”

He further said that the state government was keen on conducting the beach festival in from December 19 to 21 with grandeur. While the first day would have noted playback singer SP Balasubrahmanyam’s performance, musical maestro AR Rahman is said to grace the third day of the festival.

Speaking on the occasion, Joint Collector Mallikarjuna said that the district administration has made all the necessary preparations for the public to enjoy the festival. Mayor Pavani presided over the event and spoke about the event.

Additional JC Radha Krishna Murthy, Assistant Collector Anand, DRO Nageswara Rao, Commissioner Siva Parvathi, DEO Abraham, RDO Raghu Babu, school students and officials took part in the 2K Run.
