Eluru: The BC Chaitanya Vedika besieged the house of Minister for Labour Pitani Satyanarayana at Kommu Chikkala village in Poduru mandal on Sunday demanding that the government withdraw its decision to include Kapus in BC list.

The BC activists led by BC Chaitanya Veedika took out a rally in Kommu Chikkala and reached the Minister’s house in the village. The leaders and activists staged a dharna for some time and besieged the house later. BC Chaitanya Vedika state president Veeravalli Srinivas said that the government has unilaterally announced the inclusion of Kapus in BC list and also providing five per cent reservations to them.

He demanded the government not to include Kapus into BC list. Later, leaders Veeravalli Srinivas, D Dhanaraju, district general secretary Kukkala A Yugandhar, Jakkamsetty Rajendra Prasad, Kadali Nehru, Donga Prasad, Pitani Suryanarayana while addressing the activists said that Kapus inclusion in BC list woud affect the BCs economically and socially.

They demanded that the government withdraw its decision to include Kapus in BC (F) category in the list. If it failed to do so, they would intensify the agitation, they warned.

Later, the leaders went into the house of Minister Pitani Satyanarayana and submitted a memorandum to him on their demands. They urged the Minister to favour them in this regard. Minister Pitani told them to maintain restraint and assured them that he will discuss the issue with the Chief Minister.
