Penukonda: Former sarpanch and TDP leader Datta Reddy has been accused of threatening a railway employee Anjinappa belonging to Venkatareddypalli to sell his ancestral property of five-acre land under survey Nos. 100, 99-3, 99-6 and 90-1 to him as the prices of the land sky-rocketed with the advent of Kio Car industry in Penugonda mandal of Anantapur district.

As Anjinappa refused to sell his land to Datta Reddy, the latter had allegedly resorted to threatening and even indulged in physical attacks on Anjinappa. Consequently, Anjinappa, his wife Padmavati and their children are living in the grip of fear psychosis.

Representations submitted to the revenue officials did not evoke any response from them. Anjinappa’s son Prabhakar posted the news in social media and urged the netizens to share it to all from district collector to the chief minister.

Meanwhile, with the help of fake documents, notices have been served on Anjinappa and family. The officials are backtracking on taking a decision against Datta Reddy since he is a ruling party leader. Anjinappa has plans to sell the land at the market value and perform marriage of his daughters. Anjinappa approached the Human Rights Commission on the issue.

The family is planning to submit a representation to the District Collector and the SP and threatening to commit suicide if justice was not done to them. When Datta Reddy was approached for his clarification, he feigned ignorance and termed it as property dispute between brothers.
