As per the decision taken at the Cabinet meeting, a new office would be set up in the city, along with existing Urban MRO Office and rural MRO Office, which has been extending services for Vijayawada rural villages so far, will continue to offer services for citizens in near future also.

The decision will be useful to citizens who visit the MRO office in the city for various works. And now, citizens can get services in their respected areas in the city after the setting up of new office.

The officials also say that the services can be delivered more effectively after setting up of new MRO office. Actually, MRO offices in the city, including urban and rural, were set up in the city almost two-and-a- half-decades ago based on the population and requirement.

Later, the population in the cities has gone up to double but the same offices have been extending their services. As a result, the people are facing severe inconvenience. Issuing of certificates and land survey work turned into a tough task.

Presently, in Vijayawada city, the MRO cadre officer is monitoring the protocol duties, along with his regular duties. It has become a Herculean task for MROs to complete the regular work while participating in protocol duties. After the bifurcation of the state, Vijayawada assumed more significance. In this backdrop, the government has taken a decision to start new MRO office.

As part of it, the officials are planning to set up MRO office limits by including some villages and parting some areas. The allotment of staff and allocation of budget is being chalked out says one official on condition of anonymity.
