Water to be released to Sarvarayasagar
District Collector T Babu Rao Naidu has said that 0.29 tmcft water would be released to Sarvarayasagar reservoir from 25th December for agriculture operations in Kamalapuram constituency.
Kadapa: District Collector T Babu Rao Naidu has said that 0.29 tmcft water would be released to Sarvarayasagar reservoir from 25th December for agriculture operations in Kamalapuram constituency. Addressing a press conference on Sunday, he has said that due to pending of some civil works like crush gates repairs, etc sufficient water could not be stored in the Sarvarayasagar Reservoir.
Following directions of the government, a technical expert committee recently inspected the reservoir and submitted a report to the government over the possibilities of storage of water in the reservoir. After studying the report, Irrigation Minister Devineni Umamaheswara Rao, and Agriculture Minister Somi Reddy Chandra Mohan Reddy discussed the issue with the Chief Minister. They ordered the districtadministration to release water.
