Kadapa: BJP MLC Somu veerraju has demanded that the State government should release a white paper over spending funds related to ongoing developmental projects in the State. The BJP MLC who was in Rajampet of Kadapa district for participating in the party functionaries meeting spoke with mediapersons on Saturday.

Somu Veerraju alleges that the State govt is not maintaining an account on the funds released by Centre

He alleged that the State government was not keeping an account of the funds released by the Centre as the Chief Minister fails to maintain the accounts properly over the funds released by the Centre as Chief Minister seems to be disinterested in disclosing the facts.

“BJP-led NDA government is keen on development of Andhra Pradesh in all fronts but there should be a proper procedure in releasing the funds,” he said.

He demanded that Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu should take initiative for completion of Polavaram, Purushothapatnam and several ongoing irrigation projects in Rayalaseema districts in the interest of farming community.

Responding to a question if the Congress party had increased its tally of seats in the recent Gujarat elections due to the image of the newly elected Congress President Rahul Gandhi, he wondered if it was the case then why the party had lost elections to Himachal Pradesh Assembly where it was holding the power earlier.

He asserted that the Centre is committed to setting up a steel plant in Kadapa district. He said that the Centre will speed up the works related to the establishment of steel pant immediately after receiving a report from the agencies which were deployed for conducting a feasibility study.
