Six students who lost route map in deep jungle of Simhachalam hill, heaved a sigh of relief when they were rescued by the police. According to reports, 20 Rashtriya Swam Sevak volunteers were set for trekking to Simhachalam hills through Seethammadhara on Sunday. 

Visakhapatnam: Six students who lost route map in deep jungle of Simhachalam hill, heaved a sigh of relief when they were rescued by the police. According to reports, 20 Rashtriya Swam Sevak volunteers were set for trekking to Simhachalam hills through Seethammadhara on Sunday.

After they ventured into the forest, six among 20 students took an alternative route. Subsequently, they lost the link and stuck in a undisclosed location in the dense forest.

As the students lost the contact with the six volunteers, they contacted North Vizag MLA Vishnukumar Raju for help. In turn, the MLA informed Commissioner of Police Yoganand and District Collector Praveen Kumar over the matter.


About 60 police personnel swung into action to starting combing the Simhachalam hill. The Indian Navy too started rescue operation with an helicopter. All the six students were finally spotted by the police in the evening.
