Joint Action Committee of Primitive Tribes (PT-JAC) opposed the government’s decision to include Valmiki and Boya castes into Scheduled tribes (ST) list and assurances to fishermen for their inclusion in future.

Srikakulam: Joint Action Committee of Primitive Tribes (PT-JAC) opposed the government’s decision to include Valmiki and Boya castes into Scheduled tribes (ST) list and assurances to fishermen for their inclusion in future.

The JAC launched a relay fast in front of ITDA administrative office at Sitampeta on Wednesday. YSRCP Palakonda MLA V Kalavathi was present at the camp. She was elected as an MLA from Palakonda which was reserved for STs. Speaking on the occasion, the MLA opposed the government’s decision to include BC communities Boya, Valmiki into ST list.

At present primitive tribes are unable to get fruits from the government due to innocence with inclusion of BCs they will parmanantly stayed away from the development she explained.

She demanded that the government rollback its decision immediately. The MLA called upon the tribe sect elders to oppose the government’s decision at Janmabhoomi-Maa Vuru programmes to register their protest against the government’s decision.
