Tirupati: Opposition leader and YSRCP president Y S Jaganmohan Reddy came down heavily on Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu for his failure to develop his own constituency, Chandragiri, in Chittoor district.

The Chief Minister was totally ignoring the development activities, he said. He pointed out that construction of 100-bed hospital at Chandragiri has not materialised so far.

Jagan began Padayatra on the 60th day from Kunepalli village in Chandragiri constituency on Friday. He interacted with public at a few villages during his Padayatra. He alleged that thousands of applications for pensions submitted during the Janmabhoomi programme were ignored by the State government.

Jagan met one Sakkamma who shared her grievances during the early part of his Padayatra on Friday. She told him that her son has been suffering from an ailment for the last two years. They visited different hospitals in Bengaluru and Tirupati and spent a lot of money for treatment.

She urged Jagan to help her son get the necessary treatment. Jagan consoled her and asked a group of doctors who joined Praja Sankalpa Yatra to look into the case and arrange the required treatment for Chinni Krishna.

Later, the Opposition leader congratulated ISRO scientists for successfully launching PSLV C-40, and he wished them more success in future endeavours.

Subsequently, Jagan took a detour from his Padayatra and went to the agriculture field of a farmer Chandra Babu who was sowing seeds at his paddy field near N R Kamma Palle in Chandragiri constituency.

The farmer owns two acres of land and cultivates paddy. He explained to the Opposition leader that he had invested nearly Rs 48,000 on his 2-acre land but the earnings from the yield would be much lesser than the amount he invested as the govt was not providing MSP.

Jagan assured him that the YSRCP would provide MSP for all the crops and a Price Stability Fund would be constituted with a corpus of Rs 3,000 crore for the welfare of farmers.

Jagan’s Padayatra covered Patha Vepa Kuppam, L V Puram cross, Netta Kuppam, Thimmaraju Palli, Gollapalli, Chittathuru and Rayala Cheruvu village before it ended at Kuppam Badhuru. Chandragiri MLA Chevireddy, MPs Mithun Reddy, Vijay Sai Reddy and local YSRCP leaders participated accompanied Jagan in the Padayatra.
