Krishna teams win PPR Kabaddi Championship
The men and women teams of Krishna district won PPR Kabaddi Championship, which concluded at Dokiparrru village in Gudlavalleru mandal in Krishna district, on Sunday. The Krishna women’s team defeated Amaravati team by 23-19.
Vijayawada: The men and women teams of Krishna district won PPR Kabaddi Championship, which concluded at Dokiparrru village in Gudlavalleru mandal in Krishna district, on Sunday. The Krishna women’s team defeated Amaravati team by 23-19.
The teams participated in tough competition with equal strength but Krishna team finally managed to win with very nominal margin. Similarly, Guntur district men’s team was defeated by Krishna district team in a nail biting finish by 39-38.
Guntur district team was in leading position in the first part of the match but finally Krishna players proved their strength. The Mega Engineering and Infrastructures Limited (MEIL) sponsored the event. In women event Krishna, Amaravati and Vuyuru secured first three places and were awarded Rs 1.5 lakh,
Rs 75,000 and Rs 50,000 each respectively. In men’s event Krishna, Guntur and Yanam teams bagged first three places. MEIL Chairman PP Reddy, MD PV Krishna Reddy and their family members were present during prize distribution.
